Intro call
A conversation with a senior engineer about the role, your background, and what you want next. No technical questions yet.

Technical conversation
A discussion with an engineer in your area. Expect questions about systems you built, and bring your own.

Paid trial
A short piece of realistic work, paid at the contract rate. If you already have a strong work sample, we can use it instead.

Final conversation
A talk about the project you would join, how you like to work, and your questions. About half of it is yours.

When will I hear back?
Within two business days. A senior engineer reads every application.
What is the hiring process?
Four stages. A 30 minute call, a 60 minute technical conversation, a short paid trial, and a final conversation.
What is the paid trial?
A short piece of realistic work, paid at the contract rate. It takes one to three days of your time.
Is the work remote?
Yes. You can work from anywhere in the United States, or from New York.
What are the working hours?
Flexible, with enough overlap with New York hours for client calls. We agree on the rest per project.
What will I work on?
Hard systems built for clients and handed over with tests and docs. Existing codebases that need a written description of what they should do. Coding agents that need setting up and measuring.
